klingelloon
is an interactive expanse of floating balloons which allows people to compose music.

The balloon is a common an playful object which recalls childhood fantasies. The idea is to invite people to immerse themselves into this field of familiar objects and let them rediscover the creative ancient instinct of producing sounds.

The balloons are arranged in eight line made of seven balloons in an orthogonal field. At the foot of each balloon there is a feeble light. The lights flash in a line in sequence. Each balloon is related to a particular note and plays it. The lines are made of seven balloons, which reproduce the whole musical scale.

The lines are repeated eight times and create an orthogonal matrix of fiftysix square meter. That means it will be possible to play a note eight times in the space.

People can unhook the balloons. When the balloon is unhooked and his light flashes, it reproduces a note. By pulling balloons the user can compose music.
The light gives the sense of the rhythm.

Klingelloon was shown at the Media Mediterranea in Pula 2009.
