are three pairs of interactive houses for two people sentimentally connected, which provides a domestic intimacy in very gentle ways. We developed three versions: paper, ceramic and plexiglass, each one with its own character and behaviour.
I concentrated on the design of the interactions, the paper and plastic models and the videos.

paper

The paper version hangs by a thread. It is lit either by a yellow or a blue light. The yellow one means it is day where the partner is. The blue represents night.
When one partner arrives home a white light turns on in the house of the other partner. By blowing on the window the white light in the other little house starts to blink.

ceramic

The ceramic house is divided into two floors. Into the top one is possible to put a nightlight. This gesture will show in the second house: because the grand floor will light up. The same gesture can be returned. Turning off the nightlight the LED is turned off in the other house.

plastic

The house made of plexiglass has a convex base. The interaction is very simple. The houses rock just by touching. The second one waggles according to the movement of the first one.

Today, just by picking up the mobile phone we can call our friends spread out all around the world. Liaison offers the possibility of keeping in touch with someone we find special in a more poetic and less intrusive way.
